Did u know that i now look forward to the weekends?
For the past 20 over years or so, every single day seemed to be the same to me. I loved every single day of the week, Wednesday being my favourite day, coz i just like the word Wednesday..hmmm..
Now, i finally began to understand the true meaning of TGIF. As the week passes by, i get happier with the coming of Friday and then the weekends where i can just sit around at home doing nothing. The feeling was just...Phew! Now i look foward to Fridays and dread when Sunday is coming to an end...
Well, yeah, my weekends will be spent either by doing nothing, or sleeping the afternoon away. I have been postponing to clean up my room from one week to another (the most tt i managed to do last week was to clear my desk, but, its back to its messy state again now..arghh!) and my 2 big boxes from Perth had been parked in the living room for nearly 3 weeks now.
Ok, ok, i have to clean the room this week..this saturday.
I think my senior is insane.
I was sent to this client place without previous years audit files as my reference and she told to do whatever i can first.
I was like, ok... in that case i just do my other notes and expenses items first, i did whatever i could do, and she said she'd come over yesterday with the previous years audit file, but she did not turn up. I called her this morning and she said she'll be coming tmrw instead. Again, she told me to do whatever i can do first.
Excuse me, what can i do without any refenrece or guide. I'm all alone down there. But i like the place coz i was put into a big office with the word VIP on the door.. I have the room all to myself, but i keep the door open la, coz i dun want the Japanese director to think that i lawan tauke pulak coz he sat just outside, and he didn't have his own room..like me..haha.
Ok, back to the previous year's audit file. The normal procedure is for us auditors to go to clients place with the previous year's audited files as a reference. So far, its been that way to all the cleints that i've been to so far. But this time, there was none, coz my senior said, the files were not available at the moment. Then how?
And the BEST part was, the company wants the draft financial statements to be ready by next week. 14th March to be exact. And i'm still struggling on my own confused and wondering if whatever i had done is correctly done or not. Then how, how, now?
The previous company took me nearly 10 days to prepare the draft financial statements and the tax computation. The this company..how, how, how??
For the first time, i went to a company whose accounts are kept manually.
I asked my senior what she meant when she said that the accounts are manually kept..
She said, "Oh, it means that the general ledger is manually kept, meaning its handwritten instead of computerised."
Right. I have been looking at handwritten jourals and ledgers for the past 3 days.
And now i'm worried about next week's draft.
*wails*
Amazing race is starting!!!
