Supposed to be yesterday's enrty.Nal invited some guests to our place after 3 for Hari Raya visit and some BBQ.A day where i started at 5:45 (i overslept!) and ended at midnight.I started by making some Konikunuya (i think) fruit jelly, followed by satay goreng, which took me about 2 hours to finally make it look like a satay goreng to me, then sambal tumis telur burung, then lemak lodeh before finally frying bagedil. Not forgetting serunding which i didn't make, (hehe..), instant from Singapore.Thank God we made bagedil and the lontong the night before. Made some gravy for the satay, while ida made her Peri-Peri flavoured fishballs and Nal handling the barbeque items. The food are finally ready by 1:15, before i get myself ready by 2.15.First to arrive was Ita and son, well, not to visit coz they intended to come over at night but we manage to negotiate with her to stay from 11.30 till after all the guests went home.It all started when Ida told me that Nal invited some of his Indo friends that "he got to know at the bus-stop". Then he invited some others and told me to invite Sitti and friends which i did.just a portion of the guests
We were really surprised by the massive amount of people that came around 5-ish. The crowd was huge that it made the cosy house look tiny. I didn't know if i manage to entertain all guests, but i think i did, well, i knew i tried to despite having to cut the remaining uncut lontong and kuih lapis and top up the food on the table when people started coming.
I doubt all that came had the chance to eat the dishes that we served. Thank God for the BBQ items.
And yes, i was so busy that i forgot to do my normal snapping of food and people in action like i normally do.
Well, the crowd was unexpected, but i was glad they came.
Its feels so like the first day of raya at my Bedok home.
Only the space and food and kuihs are limited.
